Here are some
Frequently Asked Questions.
Our starting engagement: a short, independent written position on your unit, based on data you already have. No site visit required. You’ll hear back from us within one working day, and the Health Check itself has a fixed turnaround from when we receive your data. You get a clear statement of what the evidence supports, what it doesn’t, the credible causes, and what further evidence would resolve what’s left uncertain.
No — talk to us first. The evidence that explains what happened often sits in the process data and physical condition from right before and during the event, and it degrades or disappears once the unit is cleaned, flushed, cut or re-welded. Calling first costs you nothing and can be the difference between a diagnosis and a guess.
The Health Check is fixed-fee — agreed upfront, no hourly billing, no scope creep.
In our experience, most cases come down to fouling or thermal fatigue. RootCause investigates for these first — supported by forensic, metallurgical and operating evidence — rather than assuming the most obvious explanation is correct, and any OEM findings are reviewed independently rather than taken at face value.
Yes, entirely. We don’t manufacture or sell heat exchangers or any other equipment, hold no OEM agency or distribution agreement, and take no fee or benefit from any fabricator or repairer — you choose who does any resulting work. If further work is needed after a Health Check, that’s contracted separately, and our fee for a diagnostic scope never depends on what it concludes. That’s a position you can put in front of your own management, an insurer or the OEM itself.
Both. Alongside diagnosing units already in service, we verify new PCHEs before acceptance — checking the technology’s fit for the duty, that the proposal meets the specified conditions, and that the unit was actually built to spec, including attending hold points at the fabricator. We can also step in as an independent third party to review ITPs or Quality Plans, whether that’s during bid clarification or once the contract’s already placed.
Yes — that’s ReWork. We engineer the repair or modification: weld-repair plans, service-point retrofits, revised support or nozzle-loading assessments, fabrication-ready documentation handed to a fabricator. We don’t do the fabrication ourselves — a qualified fabricator of your choosing builds it, which is also what keeps us independent for the next thing we’re asked to verify.
Yes. RightFit covers exactly this: independent, technology-agnostic assessment of whether a PCHE is the right choice for your duty, and if so, the configuration to specify and procure against. That includes weighing it against alternatives, not just confirming a decision you’ve already made.
